Email Marketing & Anti‑Spam Policy

This Email Marketing & Anti‑Spam Policy (the “Policy”) explains how TheOntarioDuiLawyers.com ("we," "us," or "our") collects consent, sends commercial electronic messages (CEMs), and honours unsubscribe requests, in compliance with Canada’s Anti‑Spam Legislation (CASL).

We use MailerLite to manage our e‑mail list and deliver the weekly newsletter. MailerLite adheres to industry‑standard security and privacy practices.

We do not send third‑party advertising or sponsored promotions unrelated to the directory.


2. Consent — Double Opt‑In

  • Express Consent Required: You will only receive our newsletter if you actively subscribe via our sign‑up form and complete a double‑opt‑in confirmation e‑mail.
  • Unchecked Boxes: Subscription checkboxes are unchecked by default; pre‑ticked boxes are never used.
  • Recordkeeping: We store the date, time, IP address, and e‑mail address associated with each consent event using MailerLite’s audit log.

All newsletters clearly display:

4. Unsubscribe Mechanism

  • Every CEM contains a visible “Unsubscribe” link that is functional for at least 60 days after the message is sent.
  • Unsubscribes are processed automatically via MailerLite and take effect within 10 business days (CASL requirement).
  • You may also request removal by e‑mailing info@theontarioduilawyers.com with the subject “Unsubscribe”.

5. Managing Your Preferences

You may at any time:

  1. Update your profile (name, e‑mail) via the “Update Preferences” link included in every newsletter.
  2. Withdraw consent by clicking the Unsubscribe link or contacting us directly.

6. Complaint Procedure

If you believe you have received a CEM from us in error:

  1. Forward the message to abuse@theontarioduilawyers.com with a short explanation.
  2. We will investigate and respond within 48 hours.

Unresolved concerns may be directed to the Canadian Radio‑television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) at https://crtc.gc.ca.


7. Data Privacy & Security

Subscriber data is stored securely on MailerLite servers and is subject to their Data Processing Agreement. We do not sell, rent, or share our mailing list with any third parties.


8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law or our practices. Material changes will be communicated via e‑mail or prominent notice on the Site. The “Last Updated” date indicates the most recent revision.
